Sushila was wounded during an assault in Katari, Udaypur. She miraculously survived despite having wounded by eight shrapnel, some of which had to be left in her body.

Sushila holds her CT Scan report of her head. A shrapnel that had pierced her right skull could not be removed, which is still there.

Sushila takes a heavy dose of medicine everyday—for neuron, heart, thyroid problems.

Sushila sits on the chair with much difficulty because of her past wounds.


Sushila works as a secretary of Women Academy of former People’s Liberation Army of the Maoists. Established in 2012, the Academy works for women soldiers in Maoist army.
